The camera now works great with my only Canon lens -the Canon 100-400L Mark I , all non canon lenses need to still be micro adjusted at crazy amounts for usable photos. I still have my original 6D and have no issues with my other lenses on that body but my Sigma 50mm 1.4 art lens, and tamron 24-70 f2.8 and tamron 70-200f2.8 all have the same
5D Mark II and Focus Issues. Apr 7, 2012. I got the 5D mark ii several weeks ago and have used it for several photo sessions and 1 wedding. Im surprised at how soft the focus is. I have a 50mm 1.8, 85mm 1.8, 24-70 and 70-200. I used the 50 for a recent session and everything was back-focused and some, not focus at all.

Most instruction manuals and 'how-to' books recommend using a dummy target the same distance as you plan to stand from the camera. You can either use AF (autofocus) to focus on it and then set the lens' switch to MF (manual focus) or set focus mode to MF and use the dummy target to manually focus on the spot you intend to stand.
I have had no focus issues. There has been a firmware update, which addressed compatibility issues, not AF issues. You have a gaggle of third party lenses, whereas all of my main lenses are all Canon āLā lenses. The camera is under warranty, so send it to Canon, and ask them to check the AFMA. Actually I feel the AF on my 7d mark ii is working fine. In fact all the concerns of the AF or IQ arise from my plan to buy a Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art lens in the near future. Because I heard some perple having front or back focus problems with those lens, so I just try to pratice how to test the AF performance of a lens. cS0I.
