Citroen Xsara Picasso (2000 - 2010) - The engine fault light problem. Can anyone help me to pursue Citroen over an enormously expensive repair I have had to shell out for, and over which Citroen UK justs shrugs it shoulders in a very Gallic way and says tough. This is despite, as far as I can discover, this being a well recognised fault.
It finally happened to my RCZ, the check engine light came up: "Engine fault: repair needed". Since this is a pretty generic fault message, let's have a look C4 Picasso - low compression engine replacement £5k!! Hi.I have a 2017 Citroen C4 Picasso. Using the snap on diagnostic machine its turns out there is another Ecu for the Diesel Additive in which the Tank needs coding though & also level codes were stored In the same ecu and need clearing. Once programmed correctly we were able to clear the codes in the main engine ECU. Ive put a Video together on the repair.
(the engine didn't stop, but it was shaking), The next message appeared on the dashboard with beeping: "Engine Fault: Repair Need" and in a few moments later " ESP/ASR System Faulty". (I though it was a consequence). Then I stopped the engine, later in a few hours and after more times restarting, the problem had disappeared itself. The quote for the repair is £1500, which include two Non-stock pipes (total £200) and the condenser (£200), the rest is labour. They tell me the high labour cost is because they have to remove the engine to change the pipes - and this is the standard way/cost Citroen state for this repair. DsWDk57.
